Was passing by the area and needed a place to stay, i’m glad I choose the right one! Tired after a long car ride it was relieving to be greeted with kind, hospitable staff. The room was magnificent for the price I paid, room was completely clean, and it seems like it was freshly renovated. Beds were nice and comfortable, not too firm or soft. Pretty good restaurants around the area too. Overall, would come back whenever i’m in the area!

We had to book here because we were cancelled without reason at a much fancier and more expensive place. I never stay at places that are less than $150 and more of a brand name good chain, and I was super hesitant, but we were stuck and really tired. What a pleasant surprise!!! This place is super clean. It's small, but the rooms are spotless and the owners are so sweet. Don't hesitate to stay here.

We had an awesome experience staying here. The owner was extremely polite and welcoming and made us feel at home. The room was super super clean and smells great too. Also it is at such a convenient location to find everything at a walking distance. If you are like us who likes to stay at a clean homely place then you should surely stay here. Highly highly recommend.☺️

A wonderful motel. It's like a little escape from Saginaw, just outside of county lines!😊 The rooms are clean and up to date, more than comfortable. The service is great any questions and concerns are taken care of with patience. The location as I said couldn't be more perfect, also is close to a grocery store, multiple gas stations and multiple fast food choices. If I ever need a room, I come here!

If you're looking for a nice, small, safe, convenient place to stay look no further! I was traveling from out of state and knew I would arrive very late, after 2am, and staff was waiting up and ready for me just like they said they would be! They were also very courteous and not at all rude as some would be with it being that late. The bed, linens, and pillows were all clean, I also did not find any bed bugs or evidence of them. The bed was nice and soft, not too hard. It's located very closely to many food places and anything else you may need. The hotel has also recently changed ownership and they are in the process of upgrading every room. The owners even chatted with me when I checked out, they were very kind. If I'm ever back in the area again I would definitely stay here again!

My partner has been bopping around the Midwest for a few weeks and was planning to couch hop w/ friends & family but then he thought better of it. Looking for a place to stay in the area, I price checked a few chains on Expedia and while they are reliable hotels they were pricey in comparison to the Gratiot and didn’t have vacancy. Your outstanding reviews on Expedia encouraged me to send him your way, me being in SWFL coordinating over the phone and him being in the Saginaw area. He drove over, was greeted by the owner & paid for a room in about five minutes. Parking was given to him right outside his room door, where he was able to reorganize his rental with ease. He said the room smelled amazing about 3 times — huge win — and that he felt safe & that the bathrooms were clean & new. What more could a solo-traveler ask for? He went in the next morning to rebook and was greeted by name. I wanted to make sure we also wrote a great review for this little hidden gem because I’m grateful for all of the people that did so on Expedia and got my partner into a great spot for the remainder of his trip. Me and my wife had an amazing stay at the Gratiot View Motel! From the moment I arrived, everything exceeded my expectations. The rooms were spotless, comfortable, and well-maintained, with all the amenities I needed for a relaxing stay. The beds were especially cozy, making it easy to get a great night’s sleep. The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming, always ready to help with anything I needed and making me feel right at home. The location is perfect, quiet and peaceful, yet still close to everything you might need. What really stood out was the attention to detail and how much care the owners clearly put into making sure guests have a great experience. It’s rare to find a place that combines comfort, cleanliness, and such great service at this level.

This place does not deserve its low rating. The reviews are old. The new owner of this place (since last few years) is fantastic. They’ve totally turned the place around. The hospitality is top notch. The owner gave us free drinks and cereal when we bicycled in late night and great conversation. Clean rooms
